rehabbing

the last few weeks have been all about carson rehabbing and getting back to our "normal," whatever that may be.  carson's legs are getting stronger every day and he's able to do more and more that he never could do before the surgery.  the best thing i think is his range of motion and flexibility.  it used to be so hard for carson to sit on the floor in a comfortable way and now it's no problem!  he's still working hard in PT and working on his walking and figuring out how to use his newly loosened legs but when people ask us if we are happy with our choice and the outcome i say that we couldn't be happier or more proud of him and his "new" legs.  all good things going on, for sure.

one of his exercises he had to do right after surgery.  he could have never sat like this for any length of time before.

i love finding him sitting like this on his own

now that carson can handle walking on his own we've finally made it back to church and now we've taken the plunge and added shelby to the nursery.  the first week she did great.  she was all smiles and playing.  the second week...not so much.  they told us she had a quivering lip the whole time.  but, she was happy when her daddy came to get her and she saw her "bubbas."

this was as good as it was going to get right outside church.  pay no attention to the fact that carson's shirt was on backwards.  we had no clue.  clearly neither did he.

back at home with our clothes on the right way.

and probably my favorite picture from the day.  we changed into some play clothes and it was so nice out that the kids could wear shorts and t-shirts.  i love these shorts on shelbs.  look at those toddler legs.  i could squeeze them all day long.
