snowmageddon 2014

we got a few (like 2, maybe) inches of snow here last night and you would of thought the world had come to an end with the way our city/state handled things.  thankfully, we were safe at home watching it come down and then freeze over.  lots of others were stuck in their cars or at their offices or even grocery stores for the night.  megan was stuck in her car for 7 hours trying to get home from her office in downtown atlanta.  it usually takes her 20 minutes.  there were people who couldn't get to their babies and had to trust others to care for them for the night.  i can't even imagine.  i get choked up even thinking about it.  however, it was really great watching the news this morning and hearing about all the good samaritans out there helping all those in need.  i have to say that i will be glad when it's 60 and sunny this weekend.  yes, we will go from freezing and snowing to sunny and 60 degrees in just a few days.  that's georgia weather for you.

the boys absolutely loved the snow.  once we heard that we would be getting some we told them and brooks wanted to know two things: 1. what time exactly would the snow be coming, and 2. would it be christmas again since, you know, it is supposed to snow on christmas.  that four year old brain is always working overtime.  carson just wanted to go out and make snowballs.  and lay in the snow.  never mind that it is snow and it's cold.  he wanted to lay in it.  and that's just what he did.  part of the time with half his little hiney hanging out of his pants because none of his pants fit him.  we had to keep calling him over to pull them up.  by the time we were done outside his behind was bright red from being so cold.  he didn't care though.  he loved every moment.

we'll be on day two of no school tomorrow and i'll just about be ready to loose my mind but they will never forget these snow days and that makes it worth it.  thank goodness we stocked up on wine before the storm hit!

as soon as we got home from picking carson up from school we suited up and went out in the snow
