one step forward

two steps back.  well, i had a small victory on friday when i took the boys to get haircuts with the baby.  we were able to successfully come and go without any screaming from any of them.  i felt victorious.  then, friday night happened.  the boys were sleeping soundly in carson's bed.  i was up feeding shelby at about 3am.  she had slept for 3 hours {which is like a dream for me right now!} and then i heard the cry.  thankfully, andrew heard it too and went to see what happened.  brooks had thrown up all over carson's bed and himself.  at that moment i remembered brooks telling me on thursday that a kid threw up at lunch across from him.  the stomach bug.  i had to stop feeding shelby, put her down and help andrew disinfect the house.  our poor brooks is still down for the count.  he was up again last night asking for a new pair of underwear and pants because, well, you get the idea.
we're just praying that shelby doesn't catch this thing because it is no fun!  i literally just sprayed myself with lysol to try and get rid of the germs.

on a different note, it's hard to believe that miss shelby cooper will be 6 weeks old tomorrow.  in one way it feels like she was just born and in another it feels so long ago.  i guess that's what no sleep will do for you!  she's getting so big already and can almost hold her own head up.  sweet girl still loves to be held all the time.  i guess she's just trying to make sure we don't forget she's here.  must be a third child thing.  we've even gotten a few smiles out of her already.  mostly though she sleeps, eats, and poops.  and cries.  she does a lot of that too.  especially when you're not holding her.  i love all my kids equally and with all my heart but, carson was far and away the easiest baby/kid ever.  he ruined it for brooks and for shelby.  i had way too high of expectations after him.  he could of won awards for how easy he was.  sweet boy.

these were taken before we knew brooks had the stomach bug.  clearly, had we known we would not of taken him out to taco mac but mom and dad really needed to get out and get a beer!  how i drew the short stick and got these two needy ones i have no idea.

Ahhh, a nice relaxing dinner out with the fam!  Ha!

carson figured if everyone else was lounging he might as well too
