memorial day weekend 2012

sadly, i did not get many pictures of my favorite weekend of the year.  the boys had a great time going to the pools with the slides and even brooks was brave enough to ride them by himself (with a little push from me to help out!).  my two guys would swim all day long, even after they both have turned purple because they are so cold.  let the summer fun begin!

once we got back from the lake the boys both had their first soccer class.  i had been by the soccer complex to talk to the guy about carson just to let him know that he would need a little extra help and what not.  he was so very helpful and nice and told me that it would be no problem and that is what the program was all about.  it wouldn't be an issue.  i never like to just throw him in to something without a little warning.  and most of the time the people in charge pick up really quick what he'll need help with. not so much with the soccer.  unfortunately, the guy i spoke to wasn't the one running the camp and the two girls in charge were completely useless.  poor carson worked so hard to keep up but some of the skills were just too hard for him.  it took all my power to not run out to the field and hold on to his hand to help him, that's all he needed, just a hand and the two girls couldn't figure it out.  but, my little carson kept on getting back up and finishing the task, that's just the was he is.  he was so proud of himself and after every water break was the first one back out on the field.

next was brooks's turn and he had the same two girls running his class.  you can only imagine what it must have looked like.  10 3 year olds running around in circles with no order what so ever.  it was a disaster and brooks was none too interested.  i really think that they would both love soccer but i need to find a better run program

and the best news of all...brooks is potty trained!!!!  a day i thought would never come has finally arrived.  my little b is one stubborn kid and was refusing to give up his diapers, they were far too convenient for him.  it took a few days of butting heads but in the end i won and brooks is now out of diapers (except for at night, that's a beast i'll tackle later on).  the only problem now, is that brooks loves public bathrooms.  he loves to flush the toilets, there are so many different kinds!  he loves soap dispensers and sinks, especially automatic ones and most exciting are automatic dryers.  everywhere we go we must use the bathrooms.  thank goodness for hand sanitizer!
