happy birthday brooks

dear brooks,

today you turn 3 years old! how did this time go by so fast? it was just yesterday that they handed you over to me in the delivery room. all 7 lbs 17 3/4 inches of you with your spiky hair and sweet little face. your start was a little scary for all of us but once we had your heart all fixed up you were just as sweet as could be. not that you don't add a little spice to our lives with your alter ego, bruce, who we see a little more often these days. but thank god you have that side to you, it's what saved your life as a baby. god gave you your stubborn personality for a reason and you will do great things with it once your done giving your dad and i our grey hair! we can say that life with you is never dull or quiet but we wouldn't have it any other way. i used to read you oh, the places you'll go! when you were in the CICU and never have i met someone who didn't fit the last lines of that book like you do...

oh, sweet and sassy brooks, we have no doubt that you will indeed move mountains. happiest of birthdays to you! we love you to the moon and back!

i found this cute idea on pinterest (of, course!) and thought i would start doing them each year for the boys. hopefully i can keep it up and remember to do it each year because it's so cute!
