nothing too big to update on, just basically the same old stuff. we've been keeping busy with all kinds of things since the new year and it has been really hard to pull out the camera and take any pictures. the guys are getting so big so fast, i'm not sure how it is happening. all of the sudden one of them will do or say something and i'll think, wait a minute, you're too little to say/do that. but then i take a look at the calendar and realize that in a few short months i'll have a 5 year old and a 3 year old. it's crazy how fast this goes.

they are both still doing well in school and really enjoy going. well, brooks isn't so thrilled the whole way over there but once he's out of the car he pulls it together and has a great time. his teachers still say that he is so quiet, which amazes us. brooks is anything but quiet at home but he sure is fun! carson has been testing his limits a little bit recently and actually had to move his monkey (their discipline chart) down one the other day. i saw the note in his folder and immediately asked him if he got in trouble and he lowered his head and said, yes. i asked what he was doing and he started to cry and said, "i wasn't listening mom. it was all my fault." to which i had to stifle a laugh and tell him that he should always listen at school. the poor kid totally admitted to his crime and had already punished himself. how do i not laugh! i am just hoping that it was a small blip in his sweet disposition and we have had many talks about being a good boy and listening to his teachers at school. these poor kids won't be able to get away with anything since their mommy is a former teacher who will be on them like white on rice if they don't behave! but, moving a monkey one time doesn't call for too much punishment so once we got home (after he went to PT and Speech and told his teachers there that he was bad and got in trouble and it was all his fault) he was allowed to play.

this past weekend we helped baby henry celebrate his 1st birthday in style with milk and cookies and an amazing cake (i'm still enjoying the giant piece we got to bring home!). it was hilarious because at one point my two boys and our friends two boys, who are around the same age, were all on the couch each with their own ipad...it was priceless and i so wish i had taken a picture. from there we dropped the kids off at our house with andrew's parents and we headed up to lake hartwell for a quick getaway with our friends daniel, ashley, philip and stacy. good food, fun, dancing, and company was just what we needed. ashley, stacy, libby (daniel's mom) and i even tried to learn how to dougie...don't ask, but it was SO much fun! thank goodness there were no cameras around for that.

so that is about what we have been up to. i have a few random pictures from my phone to share. again, not my best work but at least it's something...

andrew and the guys enjoying his 33rd birthday cake. happy birthday daddy!

carson one day before school. how in the world is he getting so big?

b after we left henry's birthday party...he was beyond tired and proved it by throwing a fork on the ground when andrew took a bite of his piece of cake and then screaming a high pitched cry until we left. life with a 2 year old is never dull.

it's hard to see here but carson and the coffee table had a run in...the coffee table won. but not for long, he pulled himself together pretty quick and told me he was tough...you sure are buddy!

and a huge milestone, carson drinking from an open cup. this has been a beast of a task for him to master but with a lot of help from his speech teacher he is drinking like a champ. he'll tip it up and take a big gulp and say, "ahhh, just like daddy does it"
