charleston trip
after christmas at the lake we headed to charleston, sc with andrew's family for a hess family reunion. it was the first time that the boys got to meet their cousin, annabel, and the first time we were all together in a very long time. we had a great time exploring the city, despite some rain and even went on a carriage ride through the streets of charleston. once again, i was a bit busy with the guys to be able to pull out my camera and actually take decent pictures. i think that will be my new years resolution...to actually make the time to take decent pictures. i've realized that time is flying by and i want to make sure i have something to look back at when my boys are bigger and don't want to hang out with me ;)
our first full day in charleston it was raining so we went to the aquarium. the guys and annabel were super excited to see fish that looked like nemo and dory.
carson with sweet annabel. they took to each other right away. it was so sweet.
jellies!
carson and annabel running down the hall.
brooks with his new bff, john.
one night we decided to take the trolley to dinner only for it to turn out to be a huge fiasco. we waited on the curb for almost 20 minutes with three small kids and no trolley in sight. once we finally decided to get other transportation the trolley shows up! we ran back across the street and got on only to find out it was completely packed. fortunately people allowed the little kids to take their seats. it definitely was an experience. while we were waiting we pulled out the camera to keep the kiddos occupied.
carson sucker-punching aunt cameron. clearly, they both thought it was funny.
and the mickey obsession continues. carson got this cute sweatshirt from aunt megan for christmas. we pulled it out when we were on our trip and put it on him. once he realized it had mickey ears on the hood he never took it off. you would have thought we were torturing him when we took it off to put on his pj's. he wore the thing for 3 days until i finally had to peel it off him to wash it. sheesh. here he is checking himself out in the mirror, which he did several times a day.
