thanksgiving 2011

i am just now getting some time to sit down and post about our thanksgiving. we had a wonderful trip to andrew's parents' mountain house. the weather was beautiful, not too cold but cold enough to feel like it was actually thanksgiving, the boys were perfect angels...well maybe not that good but they were very good boys and we had wonderful food and good times with family. and even though our auburn tigers didn't pull off an upset against alabama it was still a fun day of watching football. war eagle, anyway. we still believe in auburn and love it!

as far as what i am thankful for this year, it's two simple things...

last year i was thankful that carson was able to get up and walk on his own. now, i'm thankful that he can run with his brother and climb the ladder to his slide and just be a silly little boy. his life may not ever be like anyone else's but i swear he has the best attitude and outlook than any other kid i've ever known. he truly is one very special little boy.

last year i was also thankful that brooks' heart was making a steady recovery. this year, i'm thankful for the miraculous recovery that his heart has made. not just average function but above average. wow. it's so fun to watch him with his little determined personality. now i know why God gave it to him because without it he may not of survived. so on days when i have had just about enough of his strong will i have to remind myself that he's that way for a very important reason.

who would have ever thought we'd be where we are today, when i was perfectly happy with where we were last year. it just proves that the two little souls we have here are amazing, and for that, i am thankful.
