i love this kid (and his brother, too!) more than i could ever imagine.

just had to share the new picture of my little guy. i shouldn't say little anymore, i feel like carson is growing like a weed these days. he does most of his growing in the upward direction but he is also getting wider too. i use the term wide loosely. the kid is still only 29 lbs but it's a solid 29. with all the walking, running, jumping and swimming he does he's put on quite a bit of muscle. he's the only 4 year old i know with a six pack! i'm not sure what i'm going to do when it gets cooler here and he has to wear pants. right now he can still wear a 2T in shorts (that is even a little big on him but i can usually adjust the waistband or add a belt and we're good) but he can easily wear a 4T shirt. all of his long pants and jeans from last year look like capri's on him now but there is no way his tiny little tush and waist can fill out a 4T pant. i have a feeling i will be cinching all of his pants with a belt and hoping that he doesn't flash his tush while at school (which, by the way, happened a few times last year)!

also, please keep in your thoughts and prayers a friend of my mom's. her husband has just been told that he has cancer, which they knew nothing of before. i don't know all the details but i know that it has spread and is very serious. i see so many wonderful things in this world but then realize there are a lot of terrible things, cancer being one of the worst. so, if you are of the praying kind please add Bill to your list. amazing things have been done because of the power of prayer and positive thoughts...the picture above being one of them.
