two years ago brooks was just about to drive us all nuts because he was so upset all the time, he would not eat, would not sleep and we just didn't know what to do. a trip to the hospital in hopes to find out a solution to what seemed like every parents problem with a newborn turned into a very scary time for us. not only were we wrong about reflux and colic we were now being driven by ambulance to Egleston and being told that our baby had something severely wrong with his heart. the next day, july 29th 2009, brooks was wheeled away for a 6 hour open heart surgery while andrew and i sat in yet another waiting room on the edge of our seats waiting for our doctor to walk through the doors. we weren't sure what to expect. we weren't given much to go on, just that our child was very sick. even though july 29th was a very long emotional day for us i look at it as a very inspiring day. from that day forward brooks proved to everyone what a miracle he is and just how hard he is willing to fight. this kid has a personality like no other and we are so blessed that he is ours. cheers to you little b. we love you!
