botox
carson got another round of botox last wednesday. it was horrible. well, let me rephrase that, it was horrible for me. it does not get any easier to hold down your child. it gets worse. he now knows exactly what is happening the second he sees the machine in the room. he's actually ok until he has to take his shorts off and sit on the table. from there on, it's no fun. before the doctor started this time he wanted to see carson walk, just to see where he would need some injections. i told carson to show dr. goldstein how he can walk. he hopped off the chair and said, "i can show him how i can dance!" and proceeded to "dance" around the room. i hated to kill his happy mood by putting him on the table :( i'll spare all of you the painful details but i will tell you this, to hear your baby call your name and beg you to make it stop is just about the worst pain i have felt in a long time. i had to put my head down and not look at carson just to make it through, and i wasn't even the one getting the shots. thank God he is ok as soon as i pick him up and thank God he still wants me to pick him up after pinning him down. worst. pain. ever. period. but...without those shots he could not do this...
i absolutely love seeing carson run all over the yard. it wasn't that long ago that i wondered if he would ever be able to walk independently, let alone run. i've learned my lesson, never second guess the determination of this kid...
and one more amazing thing...carson is jumping. you have no idea how hard it is to jump and stay standing. carson has been obsessed with jumping the last few weeks and tries so hard to stay up each time. it's amazing how fast the botox works and how quickly his brain and muscles can figure things out. oh, and a word about his hair in this video. i tried to give carson a home hair cut the other day. um, lets just say i am no edward scissorhands. it was bad. so i had to take him to get it fixed. the lady cutting his hair had really fixed it and had it looking much better...until he sneezed. she was just finishing up the front with the clippers and he sneezed. i swear it could have been a scene right out of a sitcom. she buzzed a section of his head to the scalp. we both looked at each other and cracked up, it was too funny not too. the only way to fix it was to buzz the entire thing. the poor kid has no hair left. oh well, at least it's summer so it keeps him cooler. i've learned my lesson. no more home haircuts...here is the super cute jumping video. again, excuse my voice. it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me!
