for future reference

i will not be taking the boys to check-ups together anymore. what a nightmare that was just a few hours ago. for some reason i scheduled carson's 4 year old and brooks's 2 year old check-ups on the same day. dumb idea. these two feed off of one another and once one started crying the other wasn't much further behind. it all started with the little finger prick. b watched as carson started to cry and from that point on it was all a disaster. luckily my mom was there to witness this mess and at least give me another set of hands, which i needed.

long (very long...you have no idea how long) story short, the boys are both healthy. dr. putnam is impressed with both of them and how well they are doing, considering what they each have been through. i love our doctor so much, she has never made me feel overly concerned about little things...like carson only weighing 26.5 pounds. she says that it takes a lot of work to be as awesome as carson is and that must burn a lot of calories. he has never lost any weight, just gained it ounce by ounce. he is in the 10% for height and well, we don't worry about charts for weight. he had to get 5 shots but she only gave him 3, not enough body fat to handle 5 she said. we'll go back in a few weeks for the other 2. he also had to pee in a cup which she gave us a few weeks ago. carson is a bit pee-shy and won't really go in public (but that is changing, he went at therapy monday and wednesday and at school!) so we peed in the cup at home and brought it in. this 4 year old check-up is a doozy! all in all, he checks out just fine, even though he kept telling the nurse to stop touching him. poor kid is sick of being handled by everyone, i would be too!

b screamed and clawed his way though his check-up as well. he clung to me like white on rice! he is currently 23 lbs which is in the 5% for his age and is 32 inches which is in the 10%. so i guess being low on the charts runs in the family. eh, charts mean nothing to us. the most important thing is both the guys are healthy and happy, that's all that matters!

so again, if you ever hear me say that i am just taking both the boys in to get in over with in one visit, slap me. it is not worth it for them or me!

Oh, man! I can totally relate with you. I had no idea how bad the four year old check up is and scheduled the twins together and brought Chloe because it was "easier" than getting a babysitter! Yeah, right... live and learn, right?
I'm so proud of them, though! They look so good and I love seeing them!
