the making of a christmas card and happy new year
i was determined to get a good picture of the family for our christmas card this year. i tried 3 different times to get a decent shot and by the grace of God we finally got one (one!) shot where no one was crying, screaming, closing their eye, or looked goofy. here are some of the ones that were rejected for obvious reasons.
then i thought it i could just get a cute picture of the two boys i would be satisfied. nope. they all turned out about the same. brooks crying or carson with his eyes closed. there were a million of funny ones to choose from but these two about sum it up.
when i went back through the hundreds (yes, hundreds...we may have approached 1000) i did relized that there were some really good shots. if you didn't get a christmas card this year i'm sorry. i either don't have your address, lost your address, mislabeled it or just ran out of time. we really do love each and every one of you and wanted to wish you all a merry christmas. i try to find one saying that sums up our year. last year it was, "believe in every tiny miracle" for obvious reasons. we have two tiny miracles here with us and one waiting for us in a better place. this year i went with, "all is calm, all is bright" which is how our year has been. calm (relatively) and bright. i was so ready to kick 2009 out the door and wished for a happy 2010 and that's what we got. we have been blessed this year with a completely healed heart and great strides in carson's walking. those were my only two wishes for the year and they came true. who knows what 2011 will bring, i have a feeling things are only going to get better! happy new year!
for some reason i wanted carson's ears to stick out even more so i used my face to make it happen. he's probably thinking, get off me mom!
carson likes to yell, CHEEESSSEEEE when taking pictures. so close to a decent shot.
brooks clearly did not want me to hold him...

this one was sweet, but still not up to my standards for the card :) carson is constantly trying to hug or kiss brooks. and to think, i was worried that carson would never love his brother!
their faces say it all.
