rainy weekend
it has rained here for what i feel like is weeks. i am so sick of seeing rain in our forecast and am so ready for some sunny weather. the boys are still feeling kind of crappy, carson now has a nice cough and brooks has about 3 teeth all coming in at once. so couple that we having to stay inside for 3 days in a row and you have some very cranky hesses!
i did get to go on a little side trip on saturday to the loveliest village on the plains (auburn, for those of you who didn't go there and don't know that term) for a shower. it was so nice to get in the car and drive. i got to see some good friends who i haven't seen in a few years and it was great! it's so funny, because now instead of standing around and talking about what bars are fun and how late we stayed out the night before, we know discuss big boy/girl beds, favorite cartoons, how to potty train, etc. i'm sure if you told any of us that this is what we would be talking about (and actually enjoying it!) we would have never believed it. anyway, i have really missed all of them and loved catching up.
here's a little snapshot of the brothers from on of the countless rainy/sick days we had last week. carson is really warming up to brooks more and more. i guess he realized he wasn't going anywhere so he might as well make the best of the situation. i catch him giving brooks hugs and kisses all day and it makes me so happy. don't get me wrong, i also catch him pushing him and ripping toys out of his hands too but at least he likes him some of the time. that's all a mom can ask for!
