the dinner battle

getting carson to eat dinner has become quite the task. by the time dinner time rolls around he is in no mood to sit down and eat, especially if he has had no nap for the day. i have given up the battle of making him eat everything. i know now that will not happen and i will loose every time. but, i can make him take a few bites of everything i give him. dinner time for carson could last several hours if we let it. it is extremely frustrating. last night's battle was one for the record books. i had brooks in the playroom giving him his breathing treatment and could hear carson crying over the sound of the nebulizer. after about 10 minutes i came out and andrew handed over the reins. we were trying to get him to eat some pasta with meatballs. i realized that was going nowhere so i switched to his left over peanut butter sandwich from lunch. i tried all my tricks but he was being especially stubborn for some reason. i got up for one second to walk around the corner to get brooks and i heard carson say, "here you go, bo." when i got back, not 5 seconds after i had left he had fed bo his whole sandwich! that little booger! i tried my hardest not to laugh or smile and sat down. with a very stern voice (as stern as I can be with him) and asked, "who ate your sandwich?" he bent his head down and said, "bo." well, i was determined to win this dinner battle and told him since he fed bo his sandwich he now had to eat the "soup" which is what we call it so he'll eat it. i got about 5 or 6 bites in before i thought he was going to throw himself out of the chair. at least i had won this one. but trust me, the count is definitely in his favor. what am i going to do with him?
