love the bouncy toy

especially when it puts Brooks to sleep like it did the other night. i ran out to try and do some Christmas shopping on Tuesday night. when i called home to see how things were andrew told me that b had fallen asleep in his jumpy. i did not believe it. but low and behold there are pictures to prove it. he even did it again the next morning. we had been up since 5:30 am and around 8 i put him in it. five minutes later...asleep! here's the proof...

i also started giving b "food" to chew (and by chew, i mean gnaw) on. he loves it. they make a huge mess but who cares, right? as long as he's happy for 20 minutes or so i'm happy. i can't believe how big he is getting. when i had him back in april i remember thinking, "gosh, he'll be 8 months old by Christmas." then july 28th we weren't sure he would be here for Christmas. can you believe this kid had open heart surgery just 4 1/2 months ago? what a miracle!

and...speaking of miracles, yesterday at pt carson was having a blast...walking, yes I said walking, to go down the slide. he was on his way to get his stamp at the end of his session and he saw the slide that was put in the other room. he headed past his stamps and continued to the slide. all the while laughing saying, "i go slide!" the sheer excitement in his voice would have melted your hearts. i wish i had gotten a video of it. anyway, after the third or fourth time down the slide he yelled out, "it's fun!" oh how i love that little boy. he reminds me everyday to be so grateful and to not take anything for granted, like walking to a little plastic slide on your own and sliding down it. thank you denise and linda for making that possible for him! we LOVE you guys!!

Hey, I'm Jenn Stanford, stacy's sister-in-law. I check your blog every once in a while to see how the boys are doing. We followed you closely during Brooks ordeal. I feel like we have lots in common. My twins were premature, and we have had feeding issues with Lilly, but things are getting better. I laughed when I saw the pictures of the bouncy seat. We have the same one and Alex (boy twin) has put him to sleep several times just like that. It cracks me up.
Glad to see he is doing so well now.

Lauren,
What an inspiration you have been to us all to never take for granted the gift of life, health, gifted doctors, affirming friends, loving family , baby-sitting Grand parents & these long awaited confident steady steps by Carson !!! Hallelujah ... All these 3 a week visits to Physical Therapy while also caring for Brooks.....and you've never complained or given up Hope. And devoted Andrew - the perfect Dad ! It does not seem possible all you two have shared with your treasured sons.
How cute they look in their Santa hats & of course, their Auburn gear. War Eagle. Grateful for your four, Wrenda & Ken Crain
