another year, another number
well, i turned 31 over the weekend and i must say it never gets easier. what happened to the days of thinking i would never be this old. 30 seemed like such a far away age and now i am passed that! oh well, i am glad i am here to celebrate it with my husband, two beautiful miracle boys, wonderful family and amazing friends. i can't help but think this time last year i was pregnant with little brooks, thinking that maybe this pregnancy would go as planned. wrong. not too long after my birthday i started with the preterm contractions once again and was put on the t-pump. it was a huge pain but well worth the end result. then i remember thinking how nice it would be to have a full term baby with no unusual worries. wrong again. my little man ended up with a rare heart defect. last year at this time my husband had a job with benefits and now....you get the idea. funny how i can sit here and type all these horrible things that would knock anybody down with a smile. i am so incredibly happy and grateful for all the things we have. yeah, the past year has been a rough one full of worries and stress. i can only hope that by 32 all of our life's little "bumps" have been smoothed out, and if not, well we will deal with those the same way we have dealt with everything else. so here's to 31, may it be the best one yet!
i didn't get too many photos of the festivities but we had a wonderful time up at our favorite place, the lake. the silver moon friday night and gabby's on the lake saturday night. both the boys did wonderfully at dinner and had numerous people stopping by to comment on how cute and sweet they both are. duh. andrew and i even got up to the ritz where we were married to have some drinks with our best friends, daniel and ashley. it was a perfect weekend!
cake and watching mickey mouse. perfect. that's my little man's new word and he says is so sweetly. "it's purfect"

drinks with andrew, daniel and ash at the ritz. a perfect ending to the birthday extravaganza!
