We're Going Home!

So this morning one of the nurse practitioners came in and said we were definitely going home today! His echo looked good from yesterday, she said that they did see some improvement in the heart function. This was excellent news. At least we know it is going in the right direction. As my cousin Kelley said, we're getting stronger one beat at a time :) Yesterday they thought they would be sending us home on a NG tube to help with feeding but it looks like the little man has decided to eat on his own, finally!

I'll update more later on today, I have to get all of my junk packed up. It's amazing how much crap I can acquire in a few days :) Thank you so much for all the prayers. We COULD NOT have done this without all of the love and support from everyone out there!

Andrew & Lauren.

Hello, I've just found your blog via Google and am glad to see that you're on your way home. That is fabulous news - Brook has done really well!

My daughter Emily has ALCAPA, diagnosed in such similar circumstances to Brook that it gives me goosebumps. Emily is 15 now (almost 16) and doing really well. Her story is on my blog (you need to go straight to the beginning and not the end where I'm moaning about my teenage sons!)

ALCAPA is pretty rare as you will have found so if you need any first hand information just ask.

Best wishes to all

Andrew & Lauren,
What a praise & joy just to know you 4 are all home snuggling together.... Our whole church is praying for you including my 94 yr old friend Sally Price who has faithfully prayed for the needs of our flock many, many years. And my Prayer Fellowship has you surrounded by Guardian Angels.
It just does not seem possible that you have had to endure such trauma, utter exhaustion, fear, terror, anger, confusion, again asking why ??? WE live in a fallen world but all your friends are helping to hold your arms up high so, like Aaron did for Moses, you can claim the victory. Sweet Brooks is another strong Hess boy. He will prevail with parents like you and Andrew.
A Promise: "Even when you don't have any strength left, the Holy Spirit is pleading for you and the whole Hess family at the throne of Grace." Just rest in His promises that , Brooks little heart is watched over : "He watching over Israel slumbers not nor sleeps" and one breath at a time he is growing stronger as the Lord Jehovah Jireh provideth.
We all love & rejoice with you. Wrenda, Ken, Elliott & Melissa, Tyler & Kari
