My Genius

We had a busy but productive day yesterday. Carson had a NICU follow-up appointment with Dr. Leigh in the morning. We love to go and see Dr. Leigh (I would not have used the words "love" and "Dr. Leigh" in the same sentence 2 years ago!) and our nurse friends and show them how much progress Carson has made. Dr. Leigh is always so amazed by Carson and yesterday was no exception. He looked at me and said, "This little boy is going to be very smart." Duh, like we didn't know that, but it always makes you feel good to hear it from a doctor, especially one who has seen where we came from. Dr. Leigh was just amazed by Carson's progress and curiosity. We are now officially released from the follow-up clinic! We then ran over to the NICU to see some of our old nurses which is always bitter sweet. We love to see the women who took care of us but it is also very hard to walk down those halls again. Lots and lots of emotions come back that I never want to ever feel again. Which is why when I have this baby in a few weeks we told them we would just wheel by and wave!

Then it was off to an eye appointment where his doctor thinks that his eyes are getting stronger! Yeah, no patches for now. It's hard enough to get him to keep his glasses on, I could not imagine trying to keep a patch on. While we were there we tried on some "real" glasses but in kid size. They looked so cute on him but until we aren't ripping them off and throwing them half way across the room we're sticking with the indestructible ones!

All in all it was a good day. It took it's toll on me though, I was wiped out. This being almost 9 months pregnant thing is hard! I'll deal with it though, just a few more weeks and we will have a new member of our little family!

Here is a video of Carson. He loves to blow kisses and even makes the little sound effects. You can see though that all he wants to do is get to the camera. It's getting more and more difficult to get cute pictures/videos of him because all he wants to do is touch the camera!
