Carson and Cooper Hess

Well, for many of you who check up on us through the website may not already know that Carson and Cooper Hess were born April 11th at 12:57 am and 1:15 am. Things moved very quickly on April 10th and the doctors could not stop the labor. I was wheeled in to the OR around 10:30 and not too long after that Carson was born. Cooper was a bit trickier. He had to be delivered through an emergency C-section. This is the extremely short version of the events!

Our boys are in the NICU being well taken care of. We have a long road ahead of us with lots of ups and downs. Andrew and I are adjusting. What else do new parents do? Needless to say we will be living here at the hospital until our boys come home.

Here are some pictures Andrew took of the boys this morning. We have more of Carson because he is less fussy. Cooper is having a harder time and we can't bother him as much. He has to stay wrapped up and cozy. He did grab my thumb this morning! We got to take part in changing Carson's diaper and taking his temp today. It helped us feel like real parents. Please keep all four of us in your thoughts and prayers. Medicine can only take us so far.

Dear Carson and Cooper,

Welcome to the Smith Hess Family! You two are sure sweet to look at! We want you to cooperate and be good boys so Grandpa Greg can get you up on the jet skis soon and Grandma Carol can teach you how to shop for presents for your mum. We're sending lots of love,

Dear Lauren, Andrew, Grandparents too,
Your new twin baby boys are precious and beautiful. Yes so tiny, but soon will be growing. My prayers are with you and your family. Thankyou for sharing these "first" pictures.
Love,
Aunt Nancy
