two down

i had three goals for 2010. three things that i would pray for and work towards for a good year.

1. brooks's heart
2. andrew's job
3. carson's walking

we all know that brooks's heart is far beyond anything that we could have ever hoped for in such a short time. nothing short of a miracle, i've been told by many medical professionals. you have no idea the relief that was felt in this house the day we heard that news. and it's almost like he knows his heart is better, because this kid is everywhere! something new every day, it's amazing!

well, already, just one month in to 2010 we can check another item off the list. andrew accepted a job on tuesday!! a GREAT job! we are so thankful and relieved. this was a huge stress on both of our shoulders. because of the way healthcare is in the country right now (don't get me started) it would have been next to impossible to cover both the boys on an individual plan. we had to be on a group plan. so when andrew interviewed two weeks ago we were keeping our fingers crossed but trying not to be too hopeful. let's face it, there are only so many jobs out there and a ton of people trying to get one. so, when they called on tuesday and offered him the job we were beyond ecstatic! it is a little bittersweet though, now he will be back at work and gone all day. it was nice having him around the house and they boys really loved it too, but we are thrilled for him to go back to work! yea, daddy!!

so now that two of my items are taken care of i can focus all of my energy on perfecting carson's walking. i have to keep telling myself that it will come. not all kids are alike and some are special. carson is one of those special kids. he is so happy all the time, he rarely requires any discipline, he is so smart it scares me sometimes, and he is a fighter. he has this one last hurdle to jump over and if it takes him a bit longer, than so be it. i'm just so sick of this kid having to jump hurdles, his whole life has been about it, but to look at him you would never know it. his hurdles are what makes him who he is, and that is one of the sweetest kids i know. so now all i ask of you is to pray for the strength and desire for this kid to get up and run out the door on his own, i know it will happen, i just have to be patient. he's so close. 2010 is already shaping up to be a great year!
