9 months old

our little b is 9 months old today. can you believe it? i can't. 9 months ago this little guy stole my heart with his sweet little face and he continues to do so every day.

some things this 9 month old is doing (let's not forget he was about a month early and we spent a good 2-2 1/2 months on survival mode because our heart was not working properly!):

~sitting like a champ and just recently putting our self in sitting position
~rocking on our hands and knees but not quite crawling yet. he can go backwards and gets really ticked when it's not the right direction he needed to go.
~army crawling, he looks like a little wounded soldier
~standing while holding on to things like the table or our hands
~eating all kinds of baby food and little bits of actual food. he's pretty good about getting them into his mouth but bo does end up with the majority of what we give him
~grunting and whining until someone comes and gets him from the floor.
~calling my name over and over and over until i'm either out of his sight or give in and pick him up
~he LOVES his big brother, hopefully one day it will be reciprocal
~loving bath time and splashing water everywhere
~not quite sleeping through the night but almost (knock on wood). even though i am so tired of getting up at 4:30ish, when i see his sweet little face, i'm happy to rock him for a minute till he falls back asleep in my arms. the fact that i make someone feel so safe and warm that he can go right back to sleep while i hold him makes it all worth it.
~so many other things i can't even count but most of all being an all around happy little b!

we have a cardiologist appointment this coming monday. i hope they do the echo they keep telling me they will do at the next appointment. don't get me wrong, i'm thrilled that every time we go brooks looks and sounds so good that the doc doesn't think it is necessary. however, i am dying to know how much his heart has improved from the 8% we were dealing with before his surgery. i'm not getting my hopes up too high, maybe a number in the teens or twenties would be good. his doctor promised they would do one this time, so keep your fingers crossed for a good, no a great report.

Will be thinking of you on Monday - Brooks looks fab and here's hoping his ECHO is just as good.

Happy New Year to your entire family. We all enjoyed seeing your family in person over the holidays. Each of you seems to be thriving in different ways. I loved the review of the past year. Sometimes it is so healing to do that.
Here is hoping that the echo test turns out well. If you get a chance to watch it, that particular test is so amazing. One really feels connected to life.
Hugs and best wishes for success for all of you in 2010 and the coming decade!
